Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D-NY) claim that America “was never that great” isn’t the only time in recent weeks that Democrats have insulted “the greatest country in the history of the world” – the United States – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniels notes.
As CNSNews.com reported, Gov. Cuomo was addressing a ceremony to sign legislation to protect children from sex trafficking Wednesday, when he denigrated his nation:
“‘We’re not going to make America great again,’ Cuomo said in a speech. ‘It was never that great. (Gasps from the audience.) We have not reached greatness. We will reach greatness when every American is fully engaged.’”
“We live in the greatest country in the history of the world,” McDaniels responded on Twitter.
She then quoted four leading Democrats (including Cuomo) who have trashed America in the past two weeks:
- Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) lamented the “savagely wrong” state of America: “I’m a big believer that if America, if this country hasn’t broken your heart, then you don’t love her enough. Because there’s things that are savagely wrong in this country.”
- Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) slammed America as “fundamentally immoral and wrong”: “I think that there is an understanding there is something fundamentally immoral and wrong about a nation in which we have three people who own more wealth than the bottom half of the American people.”
- Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) called American law enforcement “racist…front to back”: “The hard truth about our criminal justice system: It’s racist…I mean front to back.”
- Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) said, “We’re not going to make America great again. It was never that great.”
