You’ve probably never heard of the V7 brand, but based on customer reviews, there’s plenty to like about this dirt-cheap monitor.

Here’s one of the better monitor deals I’ve seen lately: Buy.com has a 22-inch V7 D22W12-N6 LCD monitor for $129.99 shipped.
I’ll be the first to admit: I’ve never heard of V7. However, over at Amazon (where this same model sells for $40 more), 18 customers collectively rated it 4.5 stars out of 5.
The D22W12-N6 (catchy name, huh?) is definitely a lower-end model, with a maximum resolution of just 1,680×1,050 pixels. I’m sure that’s a deal breaker for some, but it’s the same resolution I’m running right now on my old Acer 22-incher, and I have no complaints.
The monitor does include stereo speakers and a pair of inputs: VGA and DVI-D. It delivers a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and a 5ms response time.
In other words, it’s a good, basic LCD, one that would work well as a secondary monitor, a replacement for an older, smaller screen, a laptop extension–you get the idea. And, hey, no rebates!
Bonus deal No. 1: Check today’s iPhone Atlas post for a great gift item. It’s a set of 18
iPhone App Magnets for $9.99 (normally $12.99). Perfect stocking-stuffer, eighth-night-of-Hanukkah filler, etc.
Bonus deal No. 2: Starting tomorrow at 8 a.m. and ending Sunday, Wal-Mart is having a kind of early Black Friday sale. Among the highlights: a 26-inch Vizio LCD TV for $198 (normally $298) and a $50 iTunes gift card for $35 (that one’s in-store only). Worth checking out.
